New Year's Eve webcast event
We actually started celebrating New Year's Eve online about 10 years ago.
Hubby had fallen asleep at his usual 8PM. I looked around for something to do and managed to find an Online New Years Eve party live from New York.
It was being hosted right at Times Square with a computer in the doorway of a local club. The club was webcasting from inside (not a small feat in those days!) but the main feature was the live chat as you were able to meet people from all over the planet and say "hi" to people celebrating right there at Times Square.
By the end of the evening I'd met a lot of new friends (I still keep in touch with some of them!).
Alas, when the next New Year rolled around, the same place was not having a party :(
We decided to throw our own party.
The first years of Online New Year's Eve were not webcasts, rather live chats but from year to year they became pretty popular and grew in size.
Our first webcast was actually part of Daytona Beach Live, then last year we webcasted live ourselves from Tabu and The Exchange in downtown Orlando, Florida.
For our 2008 webcast we'll be live from Central Station at the corner of Magnolia and Central Ave. in downtown Orlando.
We look forward to seeing you there!
